Faith on the Road – St. Michael the Archangel, Weimar TX

Spread the love

This was a pass through visit to Weimar, Texas, just an hour west of Houston. We were traveling from Mississippi to central Texas on the way to Tucson, Arizona. We had intended to arrive in Weimar around 3pm after an 8 hour day and attend a vigil Mass so we could continue the next 450 miles of our journey west early the following morning. God arranged other plans. We spent hours in traffic on I-10 in Louisiana and near Houston – our 8 hour planned day became 11. We had to attend Mass so we found St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church nearby with an 7:30 AM Mass. Praise God for His orchestration of the traffic so we could attend this Church.

So many messages came to Connie and I during Mass. Simply beautiful. Incredible Church, priest and community.

The full front with the main and two side altars. Main altar features St. Michael the Archangel, while the left side feature Mary and Merciful Jesus while the right features St. Joseph and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I nearly cried when the priest stepped up, ‘ad orietum’.

Celebrating Mass, surrounded by Jesus, Mary and the Saints.

After the priest exited, the whole congregation (no one left early) knelt and prayed —

Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia,
quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia,
resurrexit sicut dixit, alleluia;
ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia. Gaude et laetare, Virgo Maria, alleluia.
Quia surrexit Dominus vere, alleluia.
