Last week we traveled to St. John’s Catholic Church. This week we stayed within St. Paul the Apostle parish at St. Matthew’s Church.
Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Andrew Dubois, assisted by Deacon Luis again. They make a great pair and are very reverential and caring of their flocks. Easily find both outside chatting with the parishioners for long periods after Mass with no rush to leave.
Deacon shows his reverence of love of the Eucharist in the littlest ‘menial’ task of cleaning the ‘dishes.’ You can see how careful he is to insure nothing of the Eucharist is left behind. And, Monsignor’s homilies are really great. He is on point with the message relating to the readings, tying them together with life applications and meaning.
When Connie and I exited after taking some pictures, we said hi and Monsignor recognized us from the prior week. We talked for a good while about his homily, the messages we received from his words and of our journey and mission. Connie and I both received strong messages from God during the homily relating to our RV journey mission.
St. Matthew’s is a uniquely shaped architecture building. Sorta round in nature. The interior is simple but carries a lot of ‘feeling’, pointing with its people toward God.
