As we close out our fabulous stay in Sedona, we celebrate Mass at the next stop on ‘Faith on the Road’ at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Set a block off 89A, right off the shopping district this is a little hidden gem. The church is set in red rocks of Sedona with those same red rocks and cliffs surrounding and giving a beautiful backdrop. God worked an incredible garden out for the placement of St. John Vianney. This is a desert oasis in which the greatest fruit is eaten – the Eucharist.
Connie and I were very moved by the setting and the music. As we embark upon another big leg of out Faith on the Road journey, God brought us here on this Sunday morning lifting our hearts and eyes to Him in worship and praise. The music director and cantor were outstanding. They did a mix of classical and contemporary worship with a skill and style that lifts the heart yo grasp for God and to sing out His glory through praise.
Look at the view behind the altar and outside the window – God’s creation glorifying its Creator along with us.
The iconography throughout.
Sacred Hearts of Jesus, have mercy on us. Immaculate heart of Mary, pray for us.
Our Lady of Lourdes stands at the entrance and near the exit a rose garden with our Blessed Mother to honor and send on our way.
What southwest church would be complete without our Lady of Guadeloupe watching over it and for intercession?
The three crosses grab your attention immediately as you enter the parking lot. So true that the cross stands before such beauty (think about it).
As we go forward to the next ‘Faith on the Road’ visit, ‘Go in Peace.’
