Positioned beautifully against the Gulf of Mexico in Bay St. Louis Mississippi, Our Lady of the Gulf faced the full brunt when hurricane Katrina made landfall here in 2005. But, we were told by a parishioner after Mass that the church miraculously suffered little damage – they only had to refinish some of the hardwood floor. Our Lady was watching over her church for sure.
This Catholic Church celebrates several Sunday Masses, including a midday Latin Mass and an evening ‘praise’ Mass.
As you can see, this church building certainly honors our Lady. The pastor gave a fantastic and energetic homily that shared alot of insight but left room for the mind to also draw further.
This was our second Mass on Easter Sunday. Id definitely recommend visiting Our Lady of the Gulf if you’re along the Mississippi Gulf coast.
Too many incredibly beautiful churches to not try to visit more. We wanted to share these beautiful churches with you.
