We drove from Mobile into Mississippi to celebrate Holy Mass at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral. This Cathedral is another of the Pilgrimage of Hope sites on our journey back to Florida.

We were blessed to have Bishop Kihneman as the Celebrant for Mass and the Mass to be the ‘White Mass’ of the Diocese. The ‘White Mass’ celebrates Catholic healthcare workers – doctors, nurses and all who serve their patients.
Sitting not far from the Gulf coast, this is a historic Cathedral dating back to 1843. When the French Monarch, Louis XIV, established the colony of Louisiana, Catholic priests accompanied every ship. A scarcity of priests prevented them from establishing churches in the towns along the Coast for more than a hundred years.

The stained glass windows in the Cathedral were especially beautiful.

These are the windows over the altar.

And these along the sides of the Cathedral.
