Another place those who have traveled with The Road of Faith for a few years will recognize. We visited National Shrine of Our Lady of La LeLeche Nombre de Dios Mission in March 2022. Beautiful location and shrine, very peaceful setting for prayer and reflection.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. “America’s First Marian Shrine” and the site on September 8, 1565 of what was the first parish Mass in what is now the United States. Mass celebrated at a rustic altar made of wood.
This day brings us for a mission trip and speaking invitation. We met Dr. Angeli while standing in the book signing line at the Father Alar ‘Divine Mercy’ mission. The Holy Spirit guided our discussion. Hearing our story and mission, Dr. Angeli invited us to an event at which she would be the keynote speaker. Sponsored by the Diocese of St Augustine and Ascension St. Vincent, Jubilee 2025 event for Sick & Healthcare Workers focused upon Catholic Medical Doctors and healthcare workers caring for the sick.
We were able to share some of our story that you’ve read about in my book, “I Knew His Voice.” If you haven’t read this miraculous story, why not?!? Get it on Amazon. One thing that stood out was a picture of St. Theresa of Kalkuta. She was gazing deeply and intently into the eyes of a poor, sick man in India. He had been on the street minutes earlier, was dirty and maggot-ridden. But, St. Theresa was leaned forward, looking at him as he probably hadn’t been looked at in a long time. This is what I related as our mission, both those doctors and each of us, need to do with every person we meet. To look upon each soul as if Jesus Himself, putting aside all other distractions and often those aversions, we have, to give them 100% of our love.

On the way to the event, the sky was magnificent and the water a beautiful, metallic blue. God is awesome!
