Another small country parish in northern North Carolina. We were blessed to be present at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Good Shepherd Sunday – the Lord works His ways mysteriously. And, sometimes He is pretty obvious and clear.
On top of being Good Shepherd Sunday at Good Shepherd Parish, they celebrated First Holy Communions. For a little church we were thrilled to see fourteen receive the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. Every one of them received the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus in the Eucharist on the tongue.
The deacon’s homily highlighted the Good Shepherd and the incredible blessing of the Eucharist.
“My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish.” John 10:27-28
“Those who eat My flesh and drink My blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; for My flesh is true food and My blood is true drink.” John 6:54-55
