They say a picture is worth a thousand words but have you ever notice that a picture doesn’t capture just a single word – “wow”. You see the most incredible stars in the night sky or a wow sunset, snap a picture and well, it’s just not quite what you saw? Even when my wife and I stand side by side looking at some incredible waterfall or scenery, we don’t see it the same.
It’s because THE Great Artist created that moment JUST for you.
“I went across the garden one afternoon and stopped on the shore of the lake; I stood there for a long time, contemplating my surroundings. Suddenly, I saw the Lord Jesus near me, and He graciously said to me, All this I created for you, My spouse; and know that all this beauty is nothing compared to what I have prepared for you in eternity. My soul was inundated with such consolation that I stayed there until evening, and it seemed to me like a brief moment.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 158
The main focus of Faith on the Road is to seek out and report upon beautiful Catholic Churches, Shrines and other locations that are hidden gems of our faith. I pray you visit and support these sites when you’re in that area. This year I hope to be able to bring a wider Faith on the Road to you, showing the great glories of God’s artistry in creation.
God is the master artist and as He told St. Faustina in paragraph 158 of her diary, He created this all for you. Everything God did from the moment of bringing light to the void has been for you to witness and realize the beauty of what the Father has made. But, more so, He made it all to give you an inkling of an idea of what is to come in the next life.
The greatest, most breathtaking scenes you see will pale in comparison to the first glance you have of Heaven’s glory. The most beautiful sunrise or sunset is but a shade next to the Throne of God.
“…and there in heaven stood a throne, with one seated on the throne! And the one seated there looks like jasper and carnelian, and around the throne is a rainbow that looks like an emerald.” Revelation 4:2-3
We are now preparing to take our RV, Faith, on her first journey to the west. A few months in the southwest to capture the beauty of the Grand Canyon, Sedona and more. I’m sure no picture will capture it.
Come along?
