Faith on the Road – Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist – Cleveland, Ohio

Spread the love

Bishop Amadeus Rappe laid the cornerstone of this Cathedral October 22, 1848. As the Mother Church of the Diocese of Cleveland, the Cathedral is the spiritual home of over 710,000 Catholics. The Cathedral is located in the heart of downtown Cleveland.

We were fortunate enough to attend Mass celebrating the installation of their new pastor – celebrated by Bishop Malesic.

The Year of the Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope is a special year of grace, in which the Church offers the faithful the possibility of obtaining a plenary indulgence. Bishop Malesic has designated the Cathedral as one of ten Sacred Sites and places of pilgrimage in the Diocese of Cleveland at which the plenary indulgence may be obtained.

We kicked of this Jubilee at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe in Orlando Florida at the Mass beginning the Jubilee year. Our plans include many Jubilee sites over the next few months – at each site, we will entrust our prayers for you to our Lady – Mary, the mother of God and Queen of Pilgrims seeking her Son.
