This is a marvelous Church. Set in the middle of entertainment and shopping meccas, the Basilica Shrine, Mary Queen of the Universe inspires those who come to worship, pray, and engage in quiet contemplation.
This is such a special place. I could easily imagine spending daily free time at Mass, Reconciliation, Adoration and reflection. Before and after Mass, there were at least 12-18 souls waiting in line for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
They have daily Confessions scheduled seven days a week with weekday hours morning and afternoon, plus double daily Masses.
In Orlando, visiting Disney? This is a must visit. The Basilica is off the chart awesome!
We met a great deacon from Pittsburgh, who was outside greeting people before Mass. One of the few Deacon homilists we’ve experienced in the past four years. He gave a great homily. Afterwards, he blessed some things we purchased at the gift shop. I then asked him to bless my crucifix and accept all the blessing from the Saints and priests who have blessed it in the past years – he turned it on me though, and asked me to bless him. I prayed over deacon, asking blessings of our Merciful Jesus and our Immaculate Mother.
