Such a big scary word, EVANGELIZATION.
But, evangelization is simply telling you story. How did you meet Jesus? What is your relationship with God like? Personally and personal.
Evangelization isn’t to catechize and educate someone on the faith. That’s where many get it wrong. They think ‘I’m not worthy or not smart enough.’
All one should be asking is “do I know God, does He love me? Do I realize He does love me?” Then just tell your story of relationship.
Your love and joy will flow out, His words and love will come through you. And those you speak to, will listen and hear.
That’s all my blog is and all my book is about, telling my story of knowing Jesus. That’s where I start every conversation about Him. It’s easy to talk about Who God is to ME.
We must open our mouths.
“I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”” Matthew 12:36-37
Evangelizing is not an optional part of our faith. It is mandatory that we tell the whole world of Jesus. His final command. If you really have met Jesus and have a deep relationship with God, how can you not speak of Him? To remain silent, especially in today’s world, robs another soul of the hope of finding what you have found. It also steals from you the opportunity to go deeper. To teach shows the depth of your knowledge of the subject. And, when the subject is ‘how Jesus touched my life’, your words set your own heart ablaze.
On this the Feast day is my Patroness, St. Faustina, be an evangelist of mercy. This starts so easily, just follow God’s lead. If He has forgiven you and shown you mercy, do the same to those around you. Tell those who have wronged you that you forgive them, even if they don’t accept the mercy, it is still given. Tell those you meet how God showed His Divine Mercy to you. Easy!
