“I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

Surrender is made easy in the realization of the truth in these words.

Why do I say that? Just read these words of Psalm 121 again and again as needed. Commit these words to your memory and lock them in the depths of your heart.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

When we come to understand the meaning of these words, all the battles and struggles of the day change focus. It isn’t our fight, it’s not our work nor our plans.

“From where will my help come?” “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”

We know God is the absolute Creator of all things in Heaven, on earth and under earth. All the cosmos moves at His desire and the stars line in the sky at His command. So, from where does your help come?

If the Lord God, El Shaddai, Lord God Almighty, “Who made heaven and earth” is providing our help, what do we fear? What do we have to plan? And, what do we have to fight?

This simple statement from Psalm 121 should be the foundation of trust and surrender.

Where does your help come from?
