“How does one discern and know the Will of God?”
Well?
The best ways to discern the Will of God is through reading the Bible and prayer. The better one knows God, the better one will be able to discern His Will in their life.
“I have fled to you for refuge.
Teach me to do your will
for you, O Lord, are my God.
Let your good spirit guide me
in ways that are level and smooth.” Psalm 143:10
Listening to the Spirit Who speaks from within is much different than obeying someone’s voice giving certain steps or rules. We see this in Jesus. Jesus doesn’t try to realize the detailed plan the Father has in store. His love of the Father is so great that He doesn’t turn His gaze away for even a moment. He continually looks to the Father to know what He is to do. Jesus is always in dialogue with the Father.
The Father asks “will You?” And Jesus, the Son, answers, “yes, Father.”
Don’t wait for a critical moment or difficult decision to turn to God as most tend to do. Speak to Him always and learn to listen to what He says.
“Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will He instruct in the way he should chose” Psalm 25:12
