Day of justice approaches

“Man of the worldly mind, do you believe in me or not?” – bellows the ghost of Jacob Marley who comes from beyond the grave to offer Ebenezer Scrooge a chance to avoid the damnation which awaits him at life’s end.

Scrooge wavers between belief and doubt, terror and apathy, as he encounters this spirit from his past now calling him to repentance.  Scrooge uses the self-protective veneer of disbelief to gain the upper hand.  “You may be,” Scrooge taunts the ghost, “an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese. . . .There’s more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are.”

But Scrooge is wrong, dead wrong, and is brought to his knees by the violence of Jacob’s reaction. Hell is real, and Scrooge is headed there. Jacob knows this and has come to offer Scrooge hope to save his soul. But the path to this redemption must begin with belief. Scrooge must believe this ghost has come from the grave to recall his friend to a better life before all is lost.

The day of justice fast approaches. Sooner than later, all will stand before God’s justice seat and face all the sins of their life. Every soul, believer or not, will be judged for all their life’s sins, committed and omitted even those long forgotten. And, those souls who have earned (and desire) it will face the fires of hell.

Pretty terrifying. But, no fear, there is time. If you act now. Turn to God’s Divine Mercy. Find Him laying in the filthy little manger on Christmas and hanging upon the Cross on Good Friday. He is there waiting with His Divine Mercy to assuage the judgment of the Father.

“”Write down these words, My daughter. Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.” O human souls, where are you going to hide on the day of God’s anger: Take refuge now in the fount of God’s mercy. O what a great multitude of souls I see! They worshiped The Divine Mercy and will be singing the hymn of praise for all eternity”. Divine Mercy in my soul # 848
