“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” Jeremiah 1:5
The Lord creates all life, He creates the whole fabric of creation. Many know these Bible verses, they tend to be somewhat famous.
Speaking beyond the formal creation of life, we know God is in everything that happens. He is the Creator and as such is always creating. When we accept what happens in our lives as something fully within God’s Hands, we begin to live within His presence. When we begin to accept this without rebelling, we begin to live with His Divine Will.
We become aware that God is continually working to form and sculpt us – to create us into the image of His Son.
This doesn’t require many thoughts or words. Even demanding work that requires all my attention doesn’t prevent me from living in God’s Divine Will.
The only thing necessary is a “yes” attitude; allowing God to create me.
Living in this manner is not easy. It would probably be easier if God created us directly, if He did the work firsthand. But, God seems to often work through other people and events. Many times, this work is done through difficult people or events. This requires great faith and openness to recognize His handy work. Sometimes, even more difficult still is when God works through mundane and ‘normal’ events. Things that don’t register as even noticeable in the history of our life.
“I will not allow myself to be so absorbed in the whirlwind of work as to forget about God. I will spend all my free moments at the feet of the Master hidden in the Blessed Sacrament.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 82
We need to open the eyes of our heart to recognize the Creator is always working to create us into the saint He envisioned when He formed us and knit us together.
Then, start paying attention in the good, the bad and the everyday moments for what God is doing and communicating to your soul. Then, see God’s creative hand at work, say “yes.”
“For thou didst form my inward parts,
thou didst knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13
“O my Jesus, You have tested me so many times in this short life of mine! I have come to understand so many things, and even such that now amaze me. Oh, how good it is to abandon oneself totally to God and to give Him full freedom to act in one’s soul!” Divine Mercy in my soul # 134
