Come Holy Spirit – Remind Me

Spread the love

“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” – Isaiah 43-1

Come Holy Spirit! Remind me who I am! Remind me who I am to You!

“Satan knows your name but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin but calls you by name.”

I am a wretched soul, a sinner compelled to walk darkness. I can forget who I’m am when I cave to temptation and fall into sin. But, You, O God of Jacob call me. You remind me of whom I am.

“But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God” – John 1:12

Stop for a moment. Ponder this thought. You, a sinner, separated from God by your own actions standing alone in the darkness of night. Maybe the only company about you being the demon(s) of sin. Then, suddenly, before you stands Jesus.

He stops you in your tracks as He says your name. You blink in surprise. Jesus repeats your name softly but firmly. Your eyes rise to meet His. As he says these words, “But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”

God the Father calls you by your name – the name He gave to you and has engraved upon the palm of His hand.

“See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands” – Isaiah 49:16

From the moment God created creation and before, He was thinking of you. The Father called you by name before there was even light in the skies.

You are not the sins of your past. You are made and called to be more.

The Father calls you by name. The Father created you to be a saint.

Listen to His call and He reminds you who you are – to Him. His son, His daughter.

When He calls you, reminding you of your true identity, how will you respond?
