“He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.” Revelation 17:14
“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,” 1 Timothy 6:15
As we started in the prior reflection, the castle is built by and for the King. Everything about the castle, all is fortified walls, reaching towers, courtyard festivals and all the work of the people are to serve the King.
Worldly kings build their grandiose structures for their pride and take from the people more than they give. But, our King, Jesus, describes a mansion with many rooms that is built specifically for those who love Him. Our King gave every last drop of His Precious Blood and life for His people. He asks a lot of those who choose to follow Him but His yoke is easy and the burden light (Matthew 11:30).
He comes to call all to Him. To give His Divine Mercy to every soul. His love has no limit and the riches He desire to pour out upon those who follow Him are endless and beyond all measure of value.
There have been some truly grand castles that we can look at and model our castle upon – Maria Kowalska Faustina, John Paul II, Theresa of Avila, Therese of Lisieux, John of the Cross, Maximillian Kolbe, Paul, Augustine and so many more. Amongst us today stand many tall castles, look around you. Who stands tall in your life as a strong fortress flying high the banners of the King?
His Majesty is a patient Lord. He will never pressure or force people to follow Him. He will stand on the walls of crumbling, empty castles with tears in His royal eyes, begging that the soul come and make it home. He will make majestic the humble little fort when the soul walks through the gate and declares Jesus King. Often, grand castles begin as simple little structures no more than a hit with a surrounding wall.
Take time today to appreciate the love of God and make Jesus the center of your castle, the King of your heart. He desires to give great rewards to you for this simple act. An act of true heroism in today’s world. Install a throne with your heart and invite Jesus to reign.
