Castle – foundation

Spread the love

How does one build a castle of prayer and faith? A castle that puts full focus upon God. Securing God at the center of the soul’s world.

it is especially critical in these times to build a strong, impenetrable fortress against the attacks of the enemy, solid enough to stand unaffected within the present world.

“Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.“ 1 Peter 5:8

One must first remove all fear. When it comes to the building a strong foundation in faith, fear has no place. Fear is simply the lie of the devil – False Expectations Appearing Real. Faith is the basic foundation of a strong fortress but when fear is in the heart, that foundation rests on sandy ground.

Fear is what the Lord askA the soul to give up to follow Him in trust. Fear is one of the root failings of the rich, young man in Matthew 19:16-30. He desired to make it to heaven but was afraid to give up his earthly attachments.
Fear puts itself between the soul and the cross. Trust puts the world behind the soul, and the cross solidly and clearly before him. The enemy makes the call of the world loud and sweet and the look of the cross terrifying and ominous.

The soul who who puts fear before or even around faith can’t overcome the world. ‘Their Love is not yet ardent enough to overcome their reason’ St Theresa of Avilla

Trust and perseverance is the basic ground upon which the castle’s foundation is set. Trust in Jesus settles the castle upon the Bedrock which is Jesus Christ.

How can a soul overcome fear? Here are some tips – gaze into the eyes of mercy by looking at the image of the Merciful Jesus; lay in bed holding the crucifix upon your chest, repeating “Jesus, I trust in You”; be honest with God about your fears, He knows your struggles, ask Him to help strengthen your faith; never go it alone, find a trusted friend or advisor to whom you can share your feelings; read Holy Scripture, so many stories throughout the Bible tell of God’s strength and love and the enemy’s lies, lean on His Word. I’ve successfully utilized each of these and others. As strong as my faith may seem at times, there are still many days that my prayer is that of the father, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.” Mark 9:24

Trust is the key!
