“So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great host.” Ezekiel 37:10
Ezekiel 37 (Read the whole story here) is an awesome story that puts our new life after Divine Mercy Sunday into a whole new light.
Every day, every moment, Jesus breaths His Spirit into each of your souls through His Divine Mercy. No greater than on Divine Mercy Sunday.
“Today the Lord’s gaze shot through me suddenly, like lightning. At once, I came to know the tiniest specks in my soul, and knowing the depths of my misery, I fell to my knees and begged the Lord’s pardon, and with great trust I immersed myself in His infinite mercy….These extraordinary flashes from the Lord educate my soul. O sweet rays of God,enlighten me to the most secret depth, for I want to arrive at the greatest possible purity of heart and soul.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 852
I once looked at myself as dead. I was dead to Jesus because of my sinful life. I have been the most horrible of sinners. Not only living in my hedonistic sin, but, actually denying Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
“Why I say to you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven to men. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whoever speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” Matthew 12:31-32
What I had done; how I was living was unforgivable. At least that is the way I saw it when God ‘walked into the valley of dead bones’ that was my soul. It took me many years of struggle and guilt to see that God had stood on the hill just as Ezekiel had. Jesus looked down upon the ‘valley of dried bones’ that was my soul and called me to new life. I slowly stood, still just a husk of true life. With a lightening blast, Jesus breathed a new life into me by way of His Divine Mercy.
Divine Mercy breaths new life into your soul each time your trust that mercy. Divine Mercy breaths life into the sin-dead soul. No matter how dead to sin or for how long the soul has been locked within the tomb of sin, Jesus can breath life into the soul.
“For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37
Now that my soul has come alive, “I rejoice exceedingly that the Lord I serve is so great” Divine Mercy in my soul # 525
Fall headlong into His Divine Mercy, hear the voice of your Savior as He calls your name from outside your tomb of sin. Feel the rush of Divine Mercy.
And, rise a mighty army for the Lord.
Ed,
I continue to feel you are way too hard on yourself.
The past does not matter in His eyes as He has forgiven you.
What matters is who you are NOW. I just see holiness, nothing else.
