“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20
If Jesus were knock at your door, asking to spend the day with you, would I make Him feel welcome? Would He know without a doubt that I am not ashamed to call Him Savior no matter where I am or who I am with?
The question is often asked, if it were illegal to worship Jesus, would there enough evidence to convict you?
Sometimes I wonder if my life, not just my words, shows enough evidence that the world would see my love of Jesus. But, this morning as I watch the sunrise, I wonder if Jesus would know of my love by my life.
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23
Words alone don’t make us ‘worthy’ to stand before God. It takes action. Action in the deeds we do for His glory. It takes more than lip service to worship God.
One can’t be ashamed to speak of God’s love and mercy, to tell others of His presence in one’s life, to declare to the world that He is my God – and when necessary, using words to do these.
“For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12
When someone needs help, help with His name on your fingertips and tongue. When someone needs prayer, pray for and with them. When someone is in the pit, speak boldly of God’s Divine Mercy.
I am not ashamed to speak His message, but, I do need to do better at showing His message through my actions.
Amen!
