Bible on the Road – Who Are You?

Spread the love

Sitting here in a few moments of prayer, Jesus comes to me in the silence. He doesn’t break the silence of the moment. Jesus just stands peacefully watching me. His gaze of peace settles peace upon my restless heart.

Looking into His eyes, I ask the Lord, “Who are You?”

This may seem a strange thing to ask the Lord God. Especially when the soul sees the Lord clearly before himself. But, in this moment, it seems right, almost like the Lord was hoping I’d ask.

“Who am I? I could simply reply as My Father did to Moses, “I AM Who Am” (Exodus 3:14). But, that isn’t what you’re asking is it?” I sit silently for another moment, looking into His eyes, I shake my head.

“I am your Savior, your Messiah. I am Lord of all and Lord of Mercy. I am so much more. Who do you say I am?”

Lord, You are Jesus. You are the Name above all names which brings me peace in the storm. You are the calmer of my storm. You are Divine Mercy of the Father incarnate. You are my Savior. You are God.

“Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

Take a moment now, close your eyes and open your heart and mind. Jesus is standing before you right in this moment. How do you respond? What do you say to the Lord? That’s an ‘I can only imagine’ moment, yea. But, once you’ve settled your racing heart to the presence of Jesus in front of you, ask Him, “Who Are You, Lord?” Let the Lord Jesus answer Who He is to you and for you. Then, soak in this personal moment and response.
