“Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” God said, “See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.” Genesis 1:26-31
God created all things, then made man and woman, giving them the order to ‘be fruitful and multiple’, ‘become one flesh (v. 2:23) and protect God gave dominium over all He created to man. Then, man fell. They are the apple and their eyes were open to their betrayal.
Since that day, man has used his writ of dominium to wrest that dominium from God Himself. Like Matthew 22:38, they try to kill God and take His inheritance.
Now, we call this theft ‘reproductive rights’, and gender ideology. Man looks at God’s created man and woman, saying ‘no, we can create gender,’ and that they need not honor marriage becoming one flesh that none shall separate to live in sin or throw marriage away when inconvenient. Man then looks to God, and the greatest gift given man, to participate in life’s creation, to proudly flout contraception and abortion. Blaspheming His words, “this is my body.”
Man tells God no. Man goes as far as thinking he has power over God’s creation by creating seedless grapes and watermelons. Fruits that cannot bear fruit. This is what man is doing to himself today. We are becoming fruit that cannot create fruit.
We kill God in our hearts and world. Unable to confess He is God, unwilling to look for Him or turn to His commandments. Then, when the fields are dying for lack of seed, we complain of the state of the world.
Will you be fruit in this desert world? It needs you now.
