Bible on the Road – Meeting Jesus

Spread the love

“The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us.” Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who is speaking to you.”” John 4:25:26

How did you meet Jesus? Do you recall this moment when He declared to you Who He Is? How far did you have to travel on your Road of Faith before you encountered Him?

It took me three and a half decades to open my eyes to the Truth. I traveled through some dark days and deep marshes of sin. But, I’ve come to realize that it wasn’t me who journeyed long to meet Jesus, it was Jesus Who made the long journey to meet me. Like the woman at the well in John’s Gospel, we only travel a short walk to the meeting place. It is Jesus Who makes the long journey. A journey with a singular goal in mind, meet you.

Think back on the day and moment you met Jesus. Not just a time you saw Him but when you came to realize He is the Messiah, your Savior.

Like Job and this woman, we can know Who God is without knowing Him. When He opens our eyes to see Him as the Messiah, we see Him and know Him.

“Then the woman left her water jar and went back to the city. She said to the people, “Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah, can he?” They left the city and were on their way to him.” John 4:28-30

How did you react at this moment? If you were like me and this woman, you ran out to tell everyone. It’s not too late, run and tell everyone Who it is you met. Let the joy of truly knowing Jesus overwhelm and overjoy your soul. Let the joy spill out sloppily all over the world.
