Bible on the Road – Doing the Will of God

Spread the love

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me on a level path.” Psalm 143:10

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

What is the Will of God in my life? Do I need special signs or visions to do the Will of God or know what it is in my life?

Trust me, special signs or even direct contact from God Himself doesn’t always flip the coin from doing what I want or immediately living in God’s Divine Will. We need God to provide the teaching and guidance to doing His Will – which He is always willing to do. But, we need to trust that teaching and trust His Divine Will over our human desires. We must break free of all the human desires of the flesh to surrender to God’s Will.

Just saying “yes” to God isn’t enough. Jesus warned against being comfortable in this when Matthew recorded, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven.” We must act and not just use words. Actions speak louder than any words.

Surrender means commitment and doing God’s Will, learning and loving His Divine Will in our life means commitment and re-commitment over and over. Don’t look for signs or a burning bush. Look to the Bible for God’s lessons in you life.

“by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” Matthew 7:21
