God doesn’t have to prove anything to us, He is God. We aren’t. Personally, I know I’ve felt otherwise many times in my life. I knew what was best, the better way to do things. Only to learn that the path I wouldn’t have chosen was the better and the route I would have taken would have been harmful.
When you feel God isn’t listening, be thankful. God is drawing us to a place on deeper trust. He is showing that He is always listening and moving us to trust the Father. Strange to say that in silence, God is showing He is always listening. In a sense of distance, God is showing us His nearness.
I have been very blessed that God has shown me that He was near in times of struggle. Those times that I felt God was furthest from me in the moment, He gifted me later showing me that He was at my side, just quiet.
In times of battle, the prayers offered are purest because they come from the heart not the mind. There are no atheists in foxholes for precisely this reason. The soul cries out when the mind is unable.
God knows the way, He IS the Way. He knows that at times, we must ‘stand alone’ to feel His presence. From my darkest, loneliest hours, I’ve found myself lifted up into God’s arms. Having traversed through those times, my faith and trust has grown.
Struggles and trials are a master level class in faith and trust.
Have you ever felt abandoned or alone? Not knowing how in the present moment God could be anywhere near? Focus upon God in times of struggle and challenge. When God feels distant or maybe not even present, focus on Him even more. These times are like the ledge of a cliff – leap out, God is close enough to immediately catch you.
