Be Job

Spread the love

“Oh, how drab and full of misunderstandings is this life! My patience is exercised, and after it comes experience. I understand and learn many things each day and see that I know very little, and I am constantly discovering faults in my conduct. Still, I am not discouraged by this, but thank God that He deigns to grant me His light that I may know myself.” Divine Mercy in my Soul # 990

Times can definitely take down turns. This year we began our RV journey. We’ve looked forward to this for a long time and know this is God’s Will and desire that we travel and blog about some of the great churches and shrines of our Catholic faith as well as to bring a chance evangelization to discussions. But, despite knowing we are doing God’s Will, this year hasn’t gone well yet. My wife’s father passed away, we both have been suffering from Covid and the weather hasn’t been great for Florida. Very easy to start questioning ourselves.

“Then Job answered the Lord: “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. ‘Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.’ I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:1-6

This is when the soul needs to persevere like Job. Despite every negative thing that may come one’s way, the soul needs to knows it’s doing God’s Will and stay the course.

God’s purpose in all things is that we come to know Him. But, more than to just hear of Him. Like Job, God wants to draw us through whatever it takes that we may see Him and know Him fully – more fully and completely.

If you know what you are doing is according to God’s Will, stay true. Pray from this position of strength. Knowing and staying within God’s Will despite what the world or devil may throw your way, gives you endurance and wisdom beyond all understanding. And when the dark days have passed you will be on the same Road of Faith that leads to God but you may find you’ve skipped many paces down the road and can see God with you.
