And, there was Jesus

Spread the love

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:1-5

In the beginning was Jesus. He was present in creation, watching over all the Father did. “In the beginning when God created[a] the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God[b] swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3

Things look bleak when you take your eyes off of the Light to look around at the world or spend your time listening to the world (aka, news media). The media and world are run by the prince of darkness. He is using it to overwhelm and overcome the faith of good Christian men and women.

“He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son” Colossians 1:13

Jesus is the Light of the world and was present when the Father called light upon the world. And, to this day, the darkness has not overcome the light.

We are called to be the light in the world. Before the Father spoke the light upon the world, He had already planned to bring His created people into adoption through His Son.

I’ve heard several losing hope in these times. That the world leaders are winning and have infiltrated the very depth of our faith. Not so, just look at these verses to understand that God has had this all planned from T-minus 10 – that’s before creation began.

Jesus Christ, the second of the Holy Trinity, had already decided He would come to the cross even before the serpent entered the garden. And, the Holy Spirit was making Himself known well before we were even called into being. “The earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ” Ephesians 1:3-5

Take heart, children of God, for you are of royal blood, covered in the mantle of the Immaculate Mother and wrapped forever in Divine Mercy. Just keep trusting Jesus, never despair nor become despondent.
