“I spend every free moment at the feet of the hidden God. He is my Master; I ask Him about everything; I speak to Him about everything. Here I obtain strength and light; here I learn everything; here I am given light on how to act toward my neighbour. From the time I left the novitiate, I have enclosed myself in the tabernacle together with Jesus, my Master. He himself drew me into the fire of living love on which everything converges.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 704
In every thing we do, we should seek to draw closer to God. A soul must always be on this path if it desire to ever stand before God’s throne in worship and praise of His Majesty.
This can happen in many varied ways. Holy Mass and Divine Liturgy, the Sacraments especially the Eucharist and Confession, prayer, Holy Scripture, quiet time in solitude alone with God, in larger crowds praising God, in deeds and words. The ways to draw nearer to God are as varied as the stars in the heavens. But, all with one converging destination, Heaven.
“Oh, but if you knew the things I’ve done.” The mantra of the evil one in the soul. “If you knew what I had done”, you would know I can’t approach God. God knows and not only is His great desire that you come back to Him, but He desires if so much that “God sent His only Son” to die for you that Mercy’s gate would be thrown open wide for you. I am the worst of sinners, God has every right in His Justice to tell the Angels to “Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 22:13. But, instead of that answer, He blew the doors of Mercy from their hinges to open the gates that even I could enter before His Majesty. I approached the King in fear, but, He didn’t treat me as a sinner but had me cloaked in His Righteousness and His royal ring placed upon my hand. I reflect upon this tearfully in awe of His Majesty and Mercy. I know if He does this for me, He can do so much more for every other soul.
He has lifted up this most lowly of sinners to His Mercy seat and given me a place of honor at the table. Imagine what He can do for you?!?!?
“I lift up the humble even to My very throne, because I want it so” Divine Mercy in my soul # 282
