“Always fight with the deep conviction that I am with you. Do not be guided by feeling, because it is not always under your control; but all merit lies in the will….. will not delude you with prospects of peace and consolations; on the contrary, prepare for great battles. Know that you are now on a great stage where all heaven and earth are watching you. Fight like a knight, so that I can reward you. Do not be unduly fearful, because you are not alone” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1760
We must always be ready to fight, for the fight never ends. Whether we are battling against attacks within our own lives, from the culture around us or against and within the church, we must always maintain a constant state of readiness.
One constant we can be assured of as Catholics is that we are engaged in a battle for the soul of man. As Catholics, we are at the epicenter of this fight.
Read the news for proof. All Christians are under assault but you can readily see the siege that is waged against the Church in the attacks against her and her values. The right for every soul to live a full life from conception through natural death. Marriage of one man and one woman. Attacks against the very Sacraments and Mass itself coming from all angles.
This enemy seems overwhelming. His forces are coming at us from every front and all angles. Their numbers seem to be ever increasing and hidden even within our own friends, churches and homes. Does this frighten you?
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
Do not be frightened or intimidated! “Fight like a knight”
“Do not be unduly fearful, because you are not alone.” Jesus is with us, God is fighting and has won the war.
So how do we deal with all these attacks?
“Know that you are now on a great stage where all heaven and earth are watching you.”
We need to stand for our faith and values at all times. The world is watching and all Heaven is watching each of us. Many of the world will turn around and attack but someone may see you and be enheartened to change their life. Is being attacked worth saving one soul?
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:10-12
