“Abwoon d’bwashmaya, Netqaddash shmakh, Tete malkutakh, Nekhvwey tsebyannakh, Aykanna d’bashmaya aph b’arha, Habwlan lakhma d’sunqananan yaomana, Washbwoqlan khaubayn, Aykana daph khnan shbwoqan l’khayyabayn, Wela tahlan le’ynesyuna. Ela patzan min bisha, Metul dilakhe malkutha, Wahayla wateshbukhta l’ahlam almin – Amen.” – The Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic
Indisputably the greatest prayer of all time. The Lord’s Prayer is with little debate the most significant prayer in Christianity. Although many theological and ideological differences may divide Christians across the world, it is a prayer that unites the faith as a whole.
Pray this prayer is silence and stillness. “OurFatherWhoartinheavenHallowed be Thy Name.”
Stop! Don’t rush! This is a rote prayer that we tend to fly through without thought. Slow down. Purposefully prayer each line and each word. Focus upon not only the words, but to Whom they are directed. Listen to Jesus as HE prays this prayer, repeating slowly only after He says a line. Listen to His heart as He connects with the Father with each word. Shhh…. Slowly and peacefully flow through this prayer.
