A Terrified Soul

Spread the love

Oh sinful soul, you have sinned over and over, so many times have you darkened yourself. You come from the Sacrament of Mercy, fresh and new, only to tarnish yourself again – again, with the same deplorable sin. Oh sinful soul, so stained are you.

You fear to return to the confessional with the same sins again. Oh sinful soul, you fear this time the God of Mercy will withhold His Mercy and finally cast judgment. Oh, sinful soul, you call out through your blackened nature to be judged, feeling you’ve earned only God’s wrath.

Sinful soul, tears of despair and discouragement wet your cheeks. “The Lord couldn’t love me self-inflicted by sin, blackened and scarred” Oh sinful soul, you try to run far in fear of the judgment due.

“Your anger weighs down upon me: I am drowned beneath your waves.” Psalm 88:7

Run, run sinful soul, try to hide from the coming wrath.

“Oh! What is that ahead? I’ve run so far, how could He find me now?”, you cry, O sinful soul. But, despite your long run, it is He. The God of your judgment stands before you. Oh sinful soul, falling on your knees, fearful in your shame, you lay your head to the ground and cry from somewhere deep within. Deep from inside, O sinful soul, comes words you can’t imagine uttering. “Please…O’ please, Lord have mercy on me. I am so sorry.”

Sinful soul, you surrender yourself waiting for the judgment axe to fall. But, what is that you hear, sinful soul? It is the loving, compassionate voice of Jesus…

Raise your eyes, child.” He could not be speaking to me, deserving only His wrath and anger. “My child, raise your eyes.” Oh sinful soul, raise your eyes to those of Mercy, listen to His words…

Have confidence, My child. Do not lose heart in coming for pardon, for I am always ready to forgive you. As often as you beg for it, you glorify My mercy.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1488

Oh redeemed soul, rejoice. Rejoice for the Lord of Divine Mercy has redeemed you. Oh redeemed soul, stand and praise the God of Divine Mercy Who has cleansed you again in His purifying blood. Oh redeemed soul do not wipe the tears from your cheeks – let this cleansing water flow. Redeemed soul, praise the God of Mercy that you have glorified His mercy again and again and again. A million times a billion and more, redeemed soul, return to the God of Mercy and beg that mercy again.

It is always yours if you just ask. He will not condemn you. Trust in Jesus, redeemed soul.

Now go forth, redeemed soul…”sin no more.” John 8:11 “go, glorifying My mercy.
