A Saint is born

Spread the love

‘God the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.‘

With these words a saint is created. The Father of Divine Mercy through the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of His Son our Lord Jesus Christ for the sake of His Son’s sorrowful passion draws the world to Him that whoever chooses to turn to see Him shall have eternal life (John 3:16), enflaming and purifying hearts in the cleansing fire of His Holy Spirit. The Father forgives the contrite heart of ALL sins – no matter how unworthy or unforgivable you think you are – the Father know your true worth in His eyes – more precious than finest gold. The Father rains down the peace Jesus promised, a peace on a level the world can’t comprehend and separates you from your sin as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12)

“Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity” Divine Mercy in my soul # 699

Ever stand in the confession line with sweaty palms, feel the worry of confessing your worst sins, go to a different parish for confession so your priest wouldn’t recognize your voice? Don’t lie, we’ve all been there.

Yes, these are all lies. Satan’s lies to keep you from this great Sacrament. He knows all his work is wiped away with the words of absolution – Divine Mercy is that powerful. We just have to want it more than we want to hold onto our sinfulness.

I remember a time when Satan threw all his powers against me to keep me from the confessional. I had a break between meeting at work so decided to go to the church a few blocks away for their scheduled time of reconciliation. I also knew the priest who sat in on this day was a blessed and holy priest who seems to be able to read souls in the confessional. The same priest who brought me from darkness through Confession (see my book, “I knew His Voice”). On my way across town, I had a sense that I was forgetting to do something at work. I knew my schedule was clear so I passed that worry off. But, as I came closer that worry turned to fear and that fear became oppressive. I felt as if a weight was pressing down upon me. With every step, it became heavier. A street away, I was having trouble even breathing. I looked at the church doors and felt the urge to run away. The doors looked like the doors to some hellish castle. For an instant I teetered. Then, I realized this was all demonic attacks to keep me from the Sacrament of Mercy. I said a quick prayer, “Jesus, I am a sinner, please defend me as I come to your Divine Mercy”. Suddenly, the weight was gone, the air fresh and cool, and for an instant, I saw two columns of angels lining my path to the church. I felt I was being escorted and protected by the angelic host itself.

I made a good and heartfelt confession, then heard the words of freedom, “God the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son…” Satan lost this round, there would be more battles but when I walked from those doors, my soul flowed with Jesus’ pure and resurrected brilliance.

Do you want forgiveness?

Let nothing prevent you from seeking the confessional. Jesus, Himself waits there for you on the other side of the screen. His forgiveness and mercy are absolute.

Confess your sins with a heart full desire to amend your ways and they are gone in Jesus’ power and grace, He makes you a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)

God in His Magnificent Power creates from a sinner, a great saint. Praise God and His glory and power and grace forever and ever amen

Run to the Father and be made new!
