A Clean Sheet

“Jesus, I trust in You”

The year ahead and our future is a blank and open page. We know not what the next hour brings let alone what tomorrow or the year ahead has in store. We can’t guess nor foretell what the days of our lives will bring. The continuing ‘journal’ of our lives is unseen by us. God alone has the story of tomorrow in His hands.

I challenge The Road of Faith community to put down the pen that we hold trying to write our story. Turn the page to a blank page and give it to God to complete. We must relinquish all illusions of our control and surrender to God this moment and the next. We must in turn surrender all our yesterdays – success and failings alike.

“Jesus, I trust in You”

It all comes down to the simple question, “do I trust God?” It is simple to ask and simple to answer but admittedly a complex answer in our day to day. This is why I challenge you to start with the next blank page. Put down the pen and let God write the story of the day. Allow God to compose the notes and lyrics that are your lifesong. Only pick up the pen to offer it to God the Father that He may sign HIS Name in autograph to the story He wrote of our lives.

Let our mantra begin today, let it start right now and continue anew ever day and every moment – let that mantra ring, “Thy Will be done.”

“So today I submit myself completely and with loving consent to Your holy will, O Lord, and to Your most wise decrees, which are always full of clemency and mercy for me, though at times I can neither understand nor fathom them. O my Master, I surrender myself completely to You, who are the rudder of my soul; steer it Yourself according to Your divine wishes.
